JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to help make a difference in the well-being of children and young people in schools? We are now investing in expanding our school social teams and are looking for an engaged social worker to the Central Child and Student Health in Växjö Municipality.

The Central Child and Student Health is part of the Education Administration's Resource Center and gathers several professions within student health. The operation is led by a manager together with unit managers. We are now looking for a social worker who wants to contribute to a health-promoting and preventive effort in our schools.

The social worker's mission in the school is to develop and implement initiatives that strengthen students' well-being together with the principal and other student health staff. As a social worker, you are centrally employed but placed at one or more school units.

In the role, you will work with health-promoting and preventive psychosocial work in schools to help students achieve knowledge goals and increased well-being, support conversations with students, and multi-party conversations in networks around students, as well as guidance and consultation for employees in psychosocial issues. Furthermore, you contribute to the school's value base and equal treatment work, increased attendance, crisis management, work against drugs, discrimination, and abusive treatment.

As a social worker, you work with students both individually and in groups. You address relational issues about how adults in schools can meet and reach students so that they feel seen and included. Your tasks also include professional development in the school social area for employees. In the role, you will also conduct school social mapping/investigation of individual students and social assessments before receiving students in adapted schools.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Ideally, you have worked with children and young people and have a particular interest in working with issues related to children and young people in educational environments. Experience working with groups, guidance, and/or professional development is an advantage. Experience in conducting school social investigations and assessments before receiving students in adapted schools is also advantageous.

You are good at collaborating and creating open and trusting relationships with everyone - regardless of background and circumstances. You are flexible, self-assured, proactive, and can independently plan and prioritize your work. It is important that you enjoy working in a team and have good collaboration skills.

A driver's license and access to a car are required.
